Second Chances On Love and Life [A Book Review on To Love Again]

Love has always been a complex and complicated life event. It is also a very abnormal process that may or may not entail two hearts in sync. As I was growing up, I always thought that Love is simple and a rose colored window, so to speak.
Reading up on this, I had been subjected to a lot of emotions, raw and pure. It was like I was the girl on the book, Gia. This book has got me thinking on the following:
1. Is there really a chance to love again after a failed love?
2. How would you even know if it is really LOVE? Not just some silly infatuation?
3. If all else fails in love, would you still love again?
These questions bugged me all over as I was racing over time to finish reading the book. I can't wait to turn from page to page and gush over Gia and Armando's story. The characters in the book seemed so alive and real.
I see myself in Bernadette and Gia. I, too, am an explorer and a lover of life. I had traveled the Philippines just to satisfy my hunger for exploring new things and getting new experiences. I have not hindered my financial status just to satiate that hunger and zest for life. I am, in a way, like Gia. I do not scrimp on what I say, I speak my mind and I do not fear what will be the consequence on my actions and if I stand for what I believe is right.
The novel is somewhat a mirror of reality. It is poignant. It is raw with emotions, and it has the best lessons on handling family, love in the Philippine Setting.
I somewhat find this novel a reminder for me that love transcends time and space. It is the only novel that made me cry while reading. I had my share of tears, too. The uncertainty of not being able to give accordingly, the knowledge of being side swept by lies and treachery. I've had all of that.
This book gave me hope that at the end of the day, I will still have the love that I deserve and what I need. It may not be what I really wanted, but I do know somehow, in the future, I will have my own love that is suited for me.
